The Museum of Modern Art, New York （MoMA） and the Japan Foundation have released new publication "From Postwar to Postmodern, Art in Japan 1945-1989".This volume gathers texts that are critical to a deeper understanding of postwar Japanese art. We believe this book will be valuable for those researchers who are studying Japanese art oversea. Since it is an English book, it is hard for us to read. Although we are waiting for Japanese translation version, it seems that the release planning is undecided.
Well, about this Japanese article anthology, translated in English, Ms. Reiko Tomii, contemporary art critic, will interpreter in Japanese.
Ms.Tomii also have written one of the article: against one column, there are two translated data from the past. As you know she is someone who is involved in this publication, and is unable to review the book, but you could enjoy her summary and talk, just like a college student's book club.
This will be a great opportunity to learn about postwar Japanese art, since there are not many people with a fluent tongue besides someone involved in this book.
The speaker Mr. Naoyoshi Hikosaka is also contributed an essay and his pictures, early event photos, are covering two facing pages.
We are looking forward to meeting you soon.
